HPV and Cervical Dysplasia

Natural Treatment

Natural Treatment Approach to Treating HPV and Cervical Dysplasia

  • Strengthen the body’s immune system to fight the HPV virus and support general immunity.
  • Promote healing of the cervix by providing proper nutrients to initiate normal cell growth in the cervical tissues.
  • Prevent progression to cervical cancer by treating the abnormal cervical cells in the early stages.
  • Prevent invasive medical procedures such as surgery, lazer and freezing to remove part of the cervix which has a high risk of scarring and causing risks in future pregnancies such as miscarriages.
  • Support the body’s cancer fighting abilities by correcting nutritional deficiencies and promote healthy food and lifestyle choices.
  • Supplement with targeted nutrients and botanicals that have been backed by research to fight the HPV virus and heal cervical cells with dysplasia.
  • Increase the body’s ability to detoxify through the liver and kidneys.
  • When necessary, acupuncture is an important treatment that is recommended to enhance the healing of the cervix and whole body.
  • Labs are ordered and are used to address underlying health issues that may contribute to compromised healing of the cervix and decreased immunity.
  • Prevent HPV and Cervical Dysplasia from returning once a patient has been cleared from treatments.
  • Resolution or improvements with existing health conditions occurs frequently as the whole body is treated and not just the cervix.

Cervical Escharotic Treatments

  • A nonsurgical treatment alternative to cryotherapy, conization, laser ablation or loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP).
  • An ideal treatment for women who are concerned about their fertility and ability to have healthy future pregnancies.
  • Naturopathic Doctors have been using cervical escharotic treatments to successfully treat cervical dysplasia and HPV for decades.
  • Escharotic treatments are performed in office and involve herbal preparations of bromelain, sanguinaria and zinc chloride applied directly to the cervix.  Treatments are twice a week for a total of 5-6 weeks.
  • This treatment is designed to gently remove the abnormal cervical cells and HPV infected cells without injuring the cervix.
  • The treatment is highly effective in individuals who have also followed the dietary, supplement and suppository treatment recommendations.
  • Success rates have been excellent for most women who receive the full course of escharotic treatments followed by a suppository regimen.

Suppository Treatment

  • A series of herbal suppositories are added upon completion of the Cervical Escharotic Treatments to ensure a better outcome.  The suppository regimen will be an additional 6-8 weeks of treatment before going in for a follow up Pap test.
  • For patients that are not candidates for the Cervical Escharotic Treatment, herbal suppositories may be used to treat the cervix along with the dietary and supplement recommendations depending on the stage of cervical dysplasia.
  • Several types of herbal suppositories are used to target abnormal cervical cells and HPV.  They include anti-viral herbs as well as tissue healing herbs to promote healthy growth of cervical tissues.

For individuals opting for only the suppository treatment, length of treatment can vary from 2-3 months as the herbal suppositories are not as potent as the herbs used in the Cervical Escharotic Treatment.  The suppository treatment is still effective, but the time that is needed to gently remove the abnormal cervical cells and the HPV infected cells will take more time.
